The Higher Education Finance Working Group invites you to attend a policy briefing on Tuesday, July 31, at 9:00 AM in 188 Russell Senate Office Building.

Featured speakers will include:

           John Dean, Consumer Bankers Association;

           Barmak Nassirian, American Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers;

           Peter Warren, Education Finance Council.

Among the questions to be addressed include:

           How will currently-proposed policy changes impact the future of federal financial aid and student loan systems, and what changes can students expect to see?

           What aspects of the private student loan market currently work for and against the interests of students, and what difference could changes to federal policy produce?

           Would student loan auctions be a positive development for students, and how might they work?

The Higher Education Finance and Student Loan Working Group is a nonpartisan, informal  collective that includes Congressional staff and representatives from several leading public policy research organizations.  The group began in 2007 to address changes in the nation’s higher education landscape since the passage of the Higher Education Act of 1965, and to discuss new policy strategies for meeting the nation’s evolving higher education finance needs.

We hope you will be able to join us.  If you are interested, please contact Lisanne Boling at boling@lexingtoninstitute.org or 703.522.5828.  Thank you.
