On Wednesday, March 19 from 9:30 - 11:30 AM, the Lexington Institute
will sponsor a Capitol Hill conference on "Priorities for Improving
Special Education." The event will be held in 2261 Rayburn Office
Building.
Confirmed speakers include:
Representative Jim DeMint, House Education Committee;
C. Todd Jones, former Executive Director, President's Commission on Excellence in Special Education.
Representative Marilyn Musgrave, House Education Committee;
Robert Pasternack, Assistant U.S. Education Secretary for Special Education.
Various
proposed reforms will be discussed, as well as relevant trends of this
critical education issue. It is the aim of the conference to stimulate
thinking among key policymakers and Members of Congress and staff as
the current reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities
Education Act (IDEA) begins to move forward.
