Comments To The Federal Communications Commission On Spectrum Sharing Rules
In conjunction with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)’s initiation of a review of the decades-old spectrum sharing regime between GSO and NGSO systems, Lexington Vice President Dr. Rebecca Grant has submitted comments in favor of the proposed rule on modernizing spectrum sharing for satellite broadband.
The comments focused on the implications of the FCC’s ruling on the United States’ technology race with China, stating that “Action now by the FCC can help deter China from creating a viable space-based ‘Belt and Road’ broadband service that could ultimately be used to coerce other nations and compete with the U.S. both in space and in the global information marketplace.”
