FTC Cooperation With The EU Should Cease And Desist (From RealClearMarkets)
The European Union (EU) and most of its 27 member countries have an abysmal record of spawning new and innovative technology companies that could improve the lives of its people. Despite that, some US regulators are pushing hard to apply the EU’s practices here and to partner with the EU in regulating America’s tech leaders.
A look at the dismal state of the EU’s tech sector shows the US should have nothing to do with the EU’s policy schemes. The EU has just five of the world’s 50 largest tech companies and, despite having 110 million people more than the United States, attracts just 7 percent of the venture capital funding that the US does.
Lexington Institute’s Paul Steidler discusses this in an Op-Ed in RealClearMarkets here.
