Has President Obama Targeted The Defense Sector?
A lot of workers and managers in the defense sector are reeling this summer from the fast, deep cuts the Obama administration has undertaken on a range of military platforms and programs. But they should not feel too lonely. In the first six months of his presidency President Obama has proposed new taxes and regulations on the following industries and sectors: oil, coal, imports, exports, non-profits, health care, small business and entrepreneurs, finance and banking, and government outsourcing. You might conclude from these actions that private sector job creation is not a high priority of the new President, but if you are looking out at a military aircraft line that is about to be shuttered you can at least know that you have lots of company.
