Letter: Chinese Counterfeiting Is Widespread And Dangerous (From Financial Times)
In a letter to the editor of the Financial Times, Lexington Senior Fellow Paul Steidler called on the United States and the European Union to push China to crack down on counterfeiting operations. These products ship to the United States and Europe, where they pose a danger to consumers, he said.
Steidler wrote his letter in support of an op-ed by Peter Navarro, White House Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy. Navarro’s piece expressed the White House’s opposition to an attempt by China to install a new leader at the UN World Intellectual Property Organisation.
