‘Like Somebody Turned Off A Switch’: Small Businesses Say USPS Delays Are Hitting Them Hard (From USA Today)

Lexington’s Paul Steidler was quoted in USA Today’s story on the impact of Postal Service delivery delays on small businesses. The Postal Service has suffered long-term decline in the quality of its service, he said, issues that predate the tenure of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. First-class mail once took one to three days to deliver, but now the standard is two to three days, Steidler noted.

“The one thing that’s not an option is for the postal service not to do anything new,” Steidler said. “Until it does things more efficiently and until Congress puts in holistic reform legislation, those chronic losses will continue.”
