Microsoft Beats Amazon For $10B Pentagon JEDI Contract (From Forbes)
The Lexington Institute’s Dan Goure was quoted in a recent Forbes article detailing the Department of Defense’s decision to award Microsoft, rather than Amazon, a 10-year, $10 billion contract for the development of the JEDI cloud network.
However, said Goure, Amazon has not been eliminated from the contractor pool because the DoD is awarding it in segments. As a result, “The Pentagon could go with a second source down the road once they’re comfortable,” he added.
