Pentagon Proposes Cuts To US Navy Destroyer Construction, Retiring 13 Cruisers (From DefenseNews)

Lexington’s Dan Goure gave DefenseNews his take on the Pentagon’s recent plan to reduce construction on nearly half its Flight III Arleigh Burke destroyers, and retiring 13 naval cruisers, in the next four fiscal years. The decision was made with plans to invest in new technologies, such as unmanned ships, in mind. “Cutting a bird in the hand for a theoretical eagle down the road,” Goure said, “almost never works.”
