Years Of Work Set Stage For Kroger’s First Drone Delivery (From The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
Lexington COO Loren Thompson was quoted in a piece by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette discussing Kroger’s first drone delivery in Centerville, Ohio. At the time of the flight’s authorization, Thompson said that the Dayton-Springfield region of Ohio might be the only locale in the nation with FAA authorization for BVLOS (“beyond visual line of sight”) drone operation research.
“This is the latest step in Dayton’s continued emergence as an aerospace innovation center,” Thompson had commented. “Unmanned aircraft are the wave of the future in aerospace, and now the Dayton area will have a major flight testing facility.”
