Operation Epic Fury: Most Sophisticated Air Campaign Ever (From FOX News)
Hours after the launch of Operation Epic Fury, here was the discussion with FOX News “Saturday in America” Host Kayleigh McEnany on Iran’s nuclear fuel, stalking leadership targets, Iran’s sprawling missile complex and the dominant role of air and naval power. The number one objective for American security rests with wiping out Iran’s military power. That task has fallen to air and naval power. Full clip here and highlights below.
Kayleigh McEnany: Take us back to a statement that Steve Witkoff made earlier in the week. He said Iran was a week away from having the industrial-grade bomb-making material. I believe that was laying the groundwork for this, and the groundwork for a justification to Congress. What do you make what do you make of that statement and Iran’s capability?
Rebecca Grant: Witkoff meant that Iran was too stubborn, and too foolish, to give up their enriched uranium. So we’ve unleashed the most sophisticated air campaign that we’ve seen; I’m really thinking about those pilots and air crews back from their first strikes, and it’s all because Iran would not give up their highly enriched uranium.
Kayleigh McEnany: I’m really taken by the reporting from Trey Yingst about this being months in the planning, and waiting for that operational opportunity to strike at the moment when senior regime officials would convene. I mentioned earlier in the hour that this reminded me of the September 2025 attack by Israel and Yemen to take out Houthi leaders when in fact they were meeting, and Israel had hours’ notice for that. That is really an extraordinary detail.
Rebecca Grant: Yes it is, and the target set is leadership but it is also that massive sprawling missile complex. we know too that president trump build up enough forces for offense like we see and to play defense. Iran has really changed the game with their strikes towards our U.S. military bases on Arab soil. They are really now inviting additional retaliation. President Trump did just the right thing, in crafting this campaign to be big enough to defend on an arc from the eastern Med through the North Arabian Gulf where those carriers are, and to carry out the strikes as well. So it’s going to be a couple days I’m sure they’re now looking at what strikes and restrikes they need to do.
Kayleigh McEnany: J.D. Vance had that interview with the Washington Post where he communicated the idea that we’re going to be in a Middle Eastern war for years with no end in sight, there is no chance that will happen so if you’re in the administration how do you walk that fine line?
Rebecca Grant: Ohh, with air power and naval power. This is not boots on the ground. To me, the number one objective for American security is destroying Iran’s military capability, and the leadership that goes with it, and our forces are getting that done right now. It’s going to take a little while to get after all this, and do the restrikes, but we’re doing now; this is not boots on the ground. After that, as President Trump says, it’s up to Iran’s people what they do with this moment, but we are going to wipe out their military power.
